TWO NEW Thanksgiving DIY Aprons! Simplicity 6206!

Hello and welcome or welcome back to the blog! I made two CUTE aprons this past week, and one of them is reversible! I made these just in time for Thanksgiving AND these would make wonderful gifts for the Christmas season!!!!

If you have been following me for some time, you may know that I love aprons!  I spend a lot of time in the kitchen because I love to cook and bake, so just like with my garments and having different things to chose from, I like to do the same for the kitchen, and that is why I make aprons!
When I was making these two aprons, I filmed the process and I made a sew-along. I’m not sure if I am going to post it because I experienced technical difficulties, so I used another camera and I don’t like the angle. I will keep you all posted if I decide to publish it.
Anyway, below you will find photos and below the photos, you will find a detailed pattern review. If you prefer to watch the video with video clips and close up shots, you can watch it by clicking here.

*Pattern Review

Pattern Number: Simplicity 6206
Pattern Description: Simplicity Sewing Pattern 1960s Vintage Gifts and Kitchen Accessories. Create a variety of simple-to-sew kitchen accessories and gifts, all in 1960s vintage style. Pattern includes 3 aprons, oven mitts, head scarves, a shoulder bag, and a clutch. Simplicity original Vintage sewing pattern.
Views: This pattern has seven views; three aprons, two scarves, a purse or shoulder bag, a clutch, and an oven mit.
View I Made:  The view that I made was view 3, which was the apron and it is the most simple apron.
FABRIC Recommendations:  The fabric recommendations are not noted on the pattern, but I used 100% cotton and I would assume that you should use that for every view minus the scarf, clutch and the shoulder back. But for the aprons, you should use cotton.
Sewing Skill Level: The skill level is noted as average, but that is because of the different views.  For the view that I made, it is beginner level.
Notions Needed: My view does call for 1.5 yards of ric rac and thread.
Pattern Sizing: The pattern sizing is just one size.
Size that I Cut: It’s all one size.
Pattern Pieces: I used four pattern pieces
Alterations or changes: Yes, I decided to make one of the aprons reversible!
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like about the pattern?  There are seven different views so you get a lot of value from this pattern, I like about it is that it’s simple, and it only needs one yard of fabric.  Also, I like the style and how quickly this makes up.
What did you particularly dislike about the pattern? Nothing
Any modification recommendations: The one thing I will caution you on is the necktie.  When I put the apron over my head, I noticed that I didn’t have a whole lot of room to get it over my head, but it’s ok.  I measured the finished neck tie or band measurements after it was all sewn up, and it measures 22 inches.  If your head is 22 inches around, make sure you add an extra inch to the neck strap/band pattern piece.  If your head is 23 inches, make sure you add two inches to that pattern piece.
Did I have a first time experience: No
Fabric Used:  100% Cotton
Fabric Purchased: Hobby Lobby
Would you recommend it to others? Yes!
Availability: This is available on the simplicity.com website and at JoAnn Fabrics.
