~~~Please click HERE to see the dedicated YouTube video for this set.~~~
Today’s garments falls into the category of the Fall Essentials, and Ellie and I made lounge sets. The patterns that I made is Vogue 1835. The reason why I chose this pattern is because although it is relaxed and lounge type, I like the off the shoulder detail on the top, that in my opinion, gives an elevated lounge set look. Alright, so let’s get into the details of this pattern! Below you will find photos, and below the phots, you will find a detailed pattern review. *Pattern Review
Pattern Number: Vogue 1835, you can find it here!
Pattern Description: Misses’ close-fitting tops that can be worn on or off the shoulder; close-fitting cropped pants have elastic waist, drawstring waist. Slippers are lined.
Views: This pattern has four views; the top that can be sleeveless, the top with long sleeves, the pants and the slippers.
View I Made:  The views that I made are views B and C, which is the longsleeve top and the pants.
FABRIC Recommendations: Moderate Stretch knits, jersey, ponte knits, sweatshirt fleece and velour.
Sewing Skill Level: The skill level is noted as easy and it is!
Notions Needed: Thread, 1 ½ yards of 1 ½ inch elastic and 2 ¼ yards of cord and if you make the slippers, which I do plan to make with my leftover fabric, you will need ¼ yard of ¼ inch elastic.
Pattern Sizing: The pattern sizing is from size XS-XXL
Size that I Cut: I made a size XL, which for my measurements, was sizing up.  I decided to size up because I felt that if I made the perfect size large, the fabric would sit a little too close to my body, which I didn’t want for this look
Pattern Pieces: For the top, there was a front piece and a back piece that both are cut on the fold, and a sleeve piece. For the pants, there is a front piece, back, pockets, and a waist band.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Outside of my set being a little loose intentionally, my set does look like the models.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, the instructions were very easy.
What did you particularly like about the pattern?  I like how this lounge set is comfortable but yet elevated. I love the simplicity of constructing it and the holes for the cord.
What did you particularly dislike about the pattern?  Nothing at all.
Did I learn any new Techniques: No
Did I have a first time experience: No
Fabric Used:  This fabric is a cable sweater knit that I purchased from JoAnn Fabrics last year at a door buster sale
Fabric Purchased: JoAnn Fabrics
Buttons Used: None
Alterations or changes: No
Any modification recommendations: No
Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I would definitely recommend this to others. This is a pattern that can be made for every season because there is a sleeveless option and a long sleeve option, and although my fabric choice was heavier, you can use a lighter fabric that would make your garment wearable year round.
Availability: This pattern came out in 2021 and this pattern is still available in stores (JoAnn’s and Hobby Lobby) and it is also available on the Simplicity website.
Pairings: Camel shoes and necklace
