Today’s post is all about my floral vintage inspired top! I made this top by using Simplicity 9707, you can find it here. I was inspired to make this beautiful top after seeing a youtuber wearing a similar one. I would have never guessed in a million years that I would grow to love large floral prints. Sometimes it just take the right person to inspire you and you will quickly see the beauty!!
I was also encouraged to make this top because it is the pattern pick for the monthly Sew Your View challenge over on Instagram!

Pattern Number: Simplicity 9707 and 9708
Pattern Description: Relaxed fit button front shirt in two lengths features yoke, collar, and buttoned cuffs. Views A and C have side seam pockets.
Views: There are Four views
View I Made: The view that I made: view B
FABRIC Recommendations: Silky types, crepes, rayons, sateen, lightweight denim, flannels and cottons.
Fabric Used: 100% cotton
Purchased From: JoAnn Fabrics
Sewing Skill Level: The skill level is noted as easy to sew and it is. If you don’t know how to make button holes or sew buttons on, you can use snaps or nothing at all.
Notions Needed: Thread and eight buttons for my view
Pattern Sizing: The pattern sizing is 4-20 for 8707 and for 8708 the sizing is
20W -38W which takes you all the way to a bust size of 70!!!!!!!!!!
Size that I Cut: The size that I cut was a 16
Pattern Pieces: Seven pattern pieces
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Yes, I feel like I achieved the look!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like about the pattern? I like that it was easy to sew, I like that I didn’t have any gaping, the length and the overall look.
What did you particularly dislike about the pattern? Some of the unprofessional finishings on the inside. You can learn more by watching my video here.

Alterations or changes: Yes, put the buttons on the opposite side of the shirt
