Easter Holiday Outfit! Two New Garment!

Hello Friends!
For today’s post, I am sharing the two NEW garments that I made to complete my Easter outfit!! My blazer (New Look 6351) and my skirt (New Look 6626)!!
I made these garments in collaboration with Natieda of @sewnaturaldane on YouTube and Instagram.
A while back, I was looking at Pinterest, and I noticed these super cute pleated ombre skirts! Not long after that, a good sewing friend of mine sent me a two yard cut of the same exact fabric as a gift! She never knew that I had my eyes on those skirts and I was super excited! At that moment, I knew exactly what I was going to make with the fabric and my inspired look came to life!!

Below you will find pattern reviews for both looks and photos of the garments!!!

More photos below the pattern review below!

*Pattern Review

Pattern Number: Garment #1: New Look 6351 Blazer, View D;
Pattern Description: Misses’ separates pattern includes 3/4 sleeve knit V-neck top, jacket, and pull-on pants and skirt with drawstring waist.
Views: There are four views that come with this pattern. A v-neck knit top, a skirt, pants and the blazer
View I Made:  The view that I made is view D, Blazer
FABRIC Recommendations (for the blazer): Chambray, Chino, Cotton types, lightweight denim, lightweight linen types, sateen, seersucker, stretch wovens and wools types.
Sewing Skill Level: The skill level is noted as average and I agree if you are totally new, but I also feel like it is easy to sew and beginner friendly.
Notions Needed: Thread (for the blazer)
Pattern Sizing: The pattern sizing begins as a size 10-22
Size that I Cut: The size that I cut was 22, for the blazer because there were not finished measurements and I wanted to make sure that it fit.  I feel that was the perfect size and my bust is 45” even.
Pattern Pieces: So, for the pattern pieces, I used the front, back, side front, back facing and sleeves. So just five pattern pieces for a nice little blazer
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Yes, I feel like I achieved the look!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like about the pattern?  I like the shaping of the blazer and I like how it was unlined, and I actually like the crop look.
What did you particularly dislike about the pattern?  No finished garment measurements for the blazer in particular.
Did I learn any new Techniques: No
Did I have a first time experience: No
Fabric Used:  Lightweight denim
Purchased:  JoAnn Fabrics
Alterations or changes: No

Pattern Number: Garment #2: New Look 6626 Skirt, View C
Pattern Description: Misses sportswear- Weird description…
Views: There are three views with this pattern.  A dress, top and the skirt.
View I Made:  The view that I made is the skirt, view C
FABRIC Recommendations: Stretch knits only such as interlock, jacquard, jersey or single knits.
Sewing Skill Level: The skill level is noted as average, but I feel that it should be easy, especially for the skirt in particular.
Notions Needed: Thread, and ¾ inch elastic for the waistband for the skirt.
Pattern Sizing: XS-XL.
Size that I Cut: The size that I cut was an XL.
Pattern Pieces: So, for the pattern pieces, I used three!  The front and back was one piece, the pockets and the waistband.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Yes!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like about the pattern?  I like the length, the pockets and I like that it has a separate waistband as a casing instead of folding over fabric and making a casing.  I feel it looks better.
What did you particularly dislike about the pattern?  Nothing
Did I learn any new Techniques: No
Did I have a first time experience: No
Fabric Used:  Pleated knit
Purchased:  The fabric was a gift from a dear sewing friend!
Alterations or changes: I did not hem the skirt, I left the end raw because it left a better drape
Any modification recommendations: To do the same
Would you recommend it to others? Absolutely yes!!
Availability: This pattern came out in 2019 and it is still available at your Local Joanns and on the Simplicity website.

Pairings:. I paired my blazer and skirt with a plain white t-shirt, an animal print scarf, a leopard print belt that I ordered from Amazon, my tan shoes and my cork wristlet that I made a while back.
